One of Handel's most successful later oratorios, and the last of four with military themes, Joshua was completed in less than one month in August 1747 after the defeat of the Jacobites in 1746 when the public was in a triumphal mood.

Founded in 1965, the Westchester Chorale is an auditioned avocational chorus of 70 men and women dedicated to the performance of great choral-orchestral music. Our Guest Conductor for the 2008-2009 season is renowned choral conductor Harold Rosenbaum, Artistic Director of The Canticum Novum Singers and The New York Virtuouso Singers, and Associate Professor of Music at The University at Buffalo/SUNY.
